How do you face your fears?
Hebrews 11:1 Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we do not see. (NIrv)
Bottom Line: When I experience what God can do, it helps me face my fears. Principle from Upward Sports
Fear is something we all have. Every week or year, we slowly face things we fear or dread. Now there are certain fears that are stronger or weaker than others that make it easier to overcome.
How do you face your fears?
Someone might say, I don’t fear anything or I don’t fear many things at all in life. I love this quote from my hero, John Wayne.
“Courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway.”
John Wayne
There are things we all are afraid of facing. Here are some things that I have been fearful of:
- Stepping into the unknown of the future and not knowing what the next step is
- Being a Husband –Will I be a great Husband
- Being a Father for the first and second time –Will I be a good or great father
- Fear of not doing enough – work or home
- Fear of doing too much – work and home
- Fear of what others think
- Fear of heights
- Speaking –God has blessed me with being able to speak but there are sometimes when I am very nervous about it or the audience
I could go on and on. We all have fears that we face. And different ones come at different seasons of life. How do we face our fears?
There is so much that we can so and probably so much that has been written on this subject, so we will only focus on the principle from upwards sports today.
Looking back on some of these fears of mine. They are not strong fears anymore. Sometimes I still might get apprehensive about something, but the fear is not where it once was.
This is because of how I got through them. As I think through my life, I see how God orchestrated and guided me through these fears. As I have survived these, I am able to have more confidence in some of my current fears.
Why? It is all because of knowing and experiencing who God is and what He has done for me, and in my life. Based on this, we are able to face our fears, for we know that God is with us.
Matthew 28:20 say’s that God is with us Always!!! That is truth that we can bank on and by faith we can take on our fears. We take them on through the power of God.
What are some of your fears? How have your seen God help you work through some of your fears? What are some truths or experiences with God that you cling to during those times?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this?
Here is an author I would recommend reading on this subject.

Great post on fear. I admit I have a hard time dealing with fear. I keep working on it. Focusing on how big God is helps me.
Thank you for your feedback. Great to hear from you. I think fear is something that everyone struggles with but don’t want to admit that its there. It is so true about how God helps us with our fears. Keep focusing. Thank you for your comment.
