Because He Lives - Our Reason To Hope To Face Tomorrow

Because He Lives – Our Reason To Face Tomorrow

Have you ever had a trial that you did not think you could make it through? The song, Because He Lives has helped me get through the journeys of life. Here is how?

Because He Lives - Our Reason To Face Tomorrow

A few days ago, March 29, marked 6 months from when my brother in law passed away. Patrick Price was a great man who left a legacy that will make an impact on future generations.

On September 29, 2015, my sister world was rocked. My the Price family lost a son, brother and a beloved uncle,  the Brummel family lost a brother, friend, and loving uncle of our precious babies. Rarely a week goes by that my oldest sons isn’t talking about him.

It has been hard on all of us, and especially my sister. Frankly I have no idea how she is managing everything as well as she is. Actually I do know, God has been giving her the strength every day. You can catch up on her story here!

On the day that he passed away, an old hymn kept popping into my head. Ever since then it has become my anthem. My anthem for hope for tomorrow.

The hymn focuses on our future in light of the empty grave. In 1 Corinthians 15

14And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day. His resurrection crushed death and sin and gives us all hope. Hope in our lives and our future.

When all seems lost and unbearable, Christ’s resurrection gives us that hope.

The song Because He Lives was written by Bill Gaither. I pray that you would read through each of these verses and the chorus.

Because He Lives

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he brings;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

It is because the resurrection of Christ, that my sister, our family and I have hope in our future. For our boys who are growing up in this world, we have this hope.

Because He Lives, I can Face Tomorrow!
