Have you heard the phrase, “ Actions speak louder than words?” Unfortunately this is the hardest part of our lives. Our actions leave a legacy behind that impacts others.
If you are anything like me it is easy to talk especially this time of year as we make our New Year resolutions.
Dreams are grand but actions are few. Talk is empty if not pared with action. Husbands and wives vow to be more honest with each other, be better spouses and better parents. We even talk about how we will grow in our faith.Talk is empty if not pared with action. Click To Tweet
But all this talk means nothing if not accompanied with action.
Hebrews 11 is known as the Faith Chapter. As you read about all of the heroes of faith, you will quickly realize that their faith was realized by their actions. And their actions are still leaving an impact now to all who hear.
“It takes a village.” This is a phrase that has become popular over the last 15-20 years. While I do not agree with the person that made it popular or the meaning that many give to it, we do become the person we are in large part because of the people and life circumstances.
Think back on your life, who are the people that have influenced you the most? These can be both positive and negative influencers. Odds are it was not only their words but also their actions that have impacted your life and helped make you who you are.

Our Actions Leave a Legacy
Imitation takes action. And if we want to grow in our faith, we should find people who we can imitate. Likewise we should live our lives so that it can be imitated.
My 2 year is a little parrot. He is constantly repeating everything that he hears and the things he sees.
It has gotten to the point where we have to be more careful of what he sees and hears.
So how about your actions? Are the things you do, worth being imitated? Can they leave a legacy?
Here are a few ways that your legacy in action can be reflected.
- The way you interact with others
- The way you love
- Your kindness
- The way we care
- Your attitude
- Your generosity
- The way you treat others
- The way you follow Christ
These are just a few ways that our actions leave a legacy.
Who are the people in your life that have influenced you? How have they influenced you?
Love to learn from you!
